To date, the Chinese Customs Department has designated 7 cities as specialized Cross-Border eCommerce Zones. These cities are Shanghai, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Zhengzhou and Shenzhen.

By 2018, China is expected to become the world's largest consumer market, with the number of cross-border online shoppers reaching 35.6 million and generating RMB 1 trillion in sales.
